you've been invited — here's how to start watching in five minutes
Check your email for a message from Plex saying a library has been shared with you. Open it and hit Accept. No email? Check spam, or ask Ethan to resend — and make sure he used the same email address you'll sign up with.
Accepting takes you to plex.tv — sign up free (or sign in if you have an account). You never pay anything: your host's lifetime pass covers your streaming, forever.
Plex is on practically everything — install it from your device's own store and sign in with your new account:
Sign in and open the Library tab at the bottom of the app — the shared Movies and TV Shows from the server named KServer live there. Tip: long-press the Library tab to pop up a quick picker of all your libraries. On a computer at app.plex.tv, they're in the left sidebar under the name KServer. Tap the star/pin on each so they're always front and center.
Plex mixes two very different things onto one screen: KServer (Ethan's library, no ads, full quality) and Plex's own free channels with ads. Here's how to tell them apart:
In the Plex app tap your profile icon → Settings → Video Quality (called Playback on some devices) — set both Home and Remote streaming to Maximum / Original. The server has an enormously fast connection; there is no reason to watch anything blurry. Ever.
